Skyfall got a new trailer today

A new trailer was released for Skyfall today, the 23rd James Bond 007 movie, and Daniel Craig's third in the lead role. The trailer depicts Bond falling from a train and being assumed killed in action, only to return when Great Britain is threatened by a terrorist known as Silva, played by No Country for Old Men's Javier Bardem. Silva seems to have a vendetta against Judi Dench's M. The trailer also gives us our first look at Ben Whishaw as the new Q.

Personally, this is the movie that I'm most looking forward to this year, even more than I was The Dark Knight Rises. I love Daniel Craig's Bond and can't wait to see the movie when it hits theaters States-side on November 9th.

The new Skyfall teaser trailer looks amazing!

Sony and MGM have released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming 23rd film in the James Bond 007 series. Check it out above. The trailer shows Bond being interrogated about something called Skyfall interspersed with action shots and a scene showing coffins covered with British flags. This trailer has me unbelievably excited for Skyfall. The trailer gives me a Christopher Nolan vibe, and looks to redeem Bond from the confusion that was Quantum of Solace. Casino Royale is one of my favorite movies and I can't wait to see more of Daniel Craig's Bond.

The trailer also gives a glimpse of the large-scale battles between the British and American forces that will play out through the course of the game. Look for Assassin's Creed III to launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 October 30.

My thoughts on The Avengers, plus the new Amazing Spider-Man and Dark Knight Rises trailers

OK, so I know The Avengers has only been out for two days, but I have seen it twice by now and if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should. The Avengers is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Everything is so perfectly balanced. Joss Whedon's writing shines bright and the fight scenes are visual spectacles that are well thought out and easy to follow. The characters play off each other realistically, and have to work through their differences to save the day. All of the actors give great performances, but The Hulk absolutely steals every scene he is in. I've seen the movie twice already, a 2D showing at the midnight premier and a 3D showing later in the day. The 3D looks great and if you're a fan of 3D, that's probably the way to go, but I personally had an easier time following the action in the fight scenes in 2D. If you're a comic book fan, you owe it to yourself to go see this movie. Oh and when you go, stick around through the credits as there are two extra scenes, the second of which is easily the best after-credits Easter egg Marvel has ever put into one of its movies.

Before the movie, Sony pictures premiered this new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, which hits theaters July 3rd. I'm really looking forward to this movie as Spider-Man is my favorite comic book character, particularly the Ultimate Peter Parker, and this movie seems to draw inspiration from that. Also, this Peter Parker makes jokes that are actually funny.

And finally the trailer for the movie that is most-anticipated this year and most likely to topple Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. I have to say that my excitement for this movie was starting to fade, but not anymore after seeing this marvelous trailer that showcases just how epic this film will be. As a Marvel fan, it pains me to say that I think this will be the best movie of the year and may even trump Nolan's previous Batman efforts. The film arrives July 20, 2012 so be sure to mark your calendars and buy your tickets early.

Assassin's Creed Easter Egg found in Metal Gear Solid 4

I could be wrong about this, but I was playing Metal Gear Solid 4 again today, and noticed that during the Vamp/Raiden fight scene, all of the buildings look just like Florence from Assassin's Creed II. If you've played Assassin's Creed II, I've posted the fight scene below, and I'd like you to watch it and tell me what you think. I wasn't planning on posting this but I did some quick internet searching and as far as I've found, nobody else seemed to notice this, which surprised me. I think it's plausible that Kojima intentionally did this as Altaïr was included as an unlockable costume in MGS4 and Raiden was a playable skin in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
